Trevor Holman
Stage Play and Music
Trevor comes from a very mixed musical background with his father having been a drummer in a jazz band and his aunt a well known classical concert pianist. There was a piano in the house before Trevor was born, and the sound of music was soon to be heard reverberating round the living room after his arrival on the scene.
Piano lessons began in earnest from the age of ten and another of Trevor's aunts bought him his first guitar at the age of twelve. A truly inspiring and excellent Scottish piano teacher named Eileen Souter, gave Trevor his love of music
teaching him piano and how to transfer what he was learning between the two instruments - information which gave Trevor an understanding and love of chord structure and chord progressions.
Music theory lessons at school along with listening to everything from the Beatles to Bach whenever possible brought Trevor a wide understanding of most areas of music.
After taking both O level and A level music, Trevor furthered his musical education by studying arrangement and orchestration for four years, before moving into the world of the session musician
where he played for most of the top London recording studios.
During the next eleven years Trevor either orchestrated, arranged or played on seventy-six top ten singles - including five number ones - before eventually using his musical expertise to switch to the other side of the recording desk becoming a successful Record Producer.
Trevor is still a prolific composer, arranger and orchestrator and happily fulfils the role of record producer, acting as a session musician in the recording studio whenever needed. Trevor now works exclusively with Derek.
