Lighting Designer

'CHURCHILL - The Musical' was lit by Andy Chafer, one of the most experienced lighting designers in the UK. Andy has worked in most aspects of the theatre from community shows to national tours and is currently the Production Manager for Chelmsford Theatres and led on the technical side of the outdoor "Spectacular" concerts featuring such acts as Elaine Paige, Michael Ball, Lesley Garrett, Chris De Burgh, Blue, Steps, The Sugarbabes and Peter Andre.

Two of Andy's most fulfilling moments were as Production

Manager on the first outdoor concert version of Les Miserables with the West End cast in front of an 18,000 audience at 'The Spectacular' in Chelmsford, and the staging of Carmen in the sand dunes on the Lancashire coast.

Andy was also the Production Manager / Lighting Designer for various UK productions including West Side Story, Jungle Book, Poppy, Shirley Valentine, The Pirates of Penzance, The Tempest, The Hobbit, Jungle Book, Jesus Christ Superstar, Daisy Pulls It Off, Blood Wedding, Threepenny Opera, Ghost Train, Chicago and Cabaret.

Other productions lit by Andy include Dead Funny, Side by side by Sondheim, The Rocky Horror Show, Broken Glass, Peter Pan the Musical, Five Guys Named Moe, Habeus Corpus, Bedroom Farce, Popcorn, Dancing at Lughnasa, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Deathtrap, Funny Money, Hayfever, Don Giovani, La Boheme, La Traviata, Closer, The Diary of Anne Frank, Up and Under, The Blue Room, Scissor Happy, Heaven Can Wait, Time and Time Again, Cinderella, Pinocchio,The Gingerbread Man, The Wizard of Oz, Toad of Toad Hall, Beauty and the Beast, Dick Whittington, Cinderella, Aladdin and Peter Pan.
